Led by the solid pitching of Ben Picone and Matt Jarmie, who combined for a one-hitter with 14 strikeouts, Flood Ford gave Warwick PAL their first loss of the year, 6-1.

Offensively, Christian Butera (2 hits including a double and 1 rbi), Jude Monti (2 hits including a triple and 1 rbi), and Jack Depalma (2 hits) led the way for Flood.

With the timely hitting of Landon Sumner (2/2, 2 rbi’s) and Gavyn Pepler (1/2, 1 rbi), Chariho outlasted the Avengers, 3-1, in their Connie Mack contest.

A quartet of pitchers combined for 13 strikeouts for the Chargers: Adam Carpenter (4 strikeouts in 2 IP), Landon Sumner (1 strikeout in 1 1/3 IP), Gavyn Pepler (3 strikeouts in 1 2/3 IP) and Alan Carpenter (5 strikeouts in 2 IP).

The West Warwick Connie Mack team came from behind and took an insurmountable lead in the top of the ninth inning for their second consecutive victory over East Greenwich, 9-3.

Nathan Hunt, who struck out two batters in 1 2/3 innings of work in the eighth and ninth, earned the victory.

With the game tied at 3-3, WWCM scored six runs in the top of the ninth inning to break the wooden-bat game open.

Logan Dean led off the inning with a single and scored when Dylan Lombari’s bunt forced a throwing an error. Lombari stole third base and then, scored on a grounder by Nathan Hunt. Hunt, who reached on an error advanced to third on a Joe Riviera’s sacrifice bunt and scored on Nick Brown’s towering double down the left field line, making it 6-3.

Brown advanced to third on a passed ball and scored the fourth run of the inning when Caden Denton hit a fly ball to centerfield.

After Brendan Griffin reached on an error, Josh Pedus (pictured) ripped a triple into the left-center field gap, scoring him. Pedus raced home with WWCM’s last run of the inning on an errant throw.

Zackary Lawrence, who started the game, struck out four and allowed just two earned runs in 5 1/3 innings of work. Logan Dean struck out three batters in two innings of work to keep the game tied and headed into extra innings.

East Greenwich’s Evan Macaulay pitched well, striking out six batters and allowing just two earned runs in four innings of work.

While Lombari led the Black and Orange with two hits (2/4, one double, one run scored and one rbi), Robert Brooks and Jack Kiernan had multiple hit games for the Avengers.

Nathan Hunt and Brendan Griffin each had two walks and two runs scored for West Warwick.

Warwick PAL continued their winning streak with a 6-1 road win over Smithfield.

Brayden Ogden, who scattered four hits over six innings, struck out six for the victory.

Ogden also had three rbi’s lead Warwick’s offense. Also, Austin Wheeler and Tyler Cote each had two hits for Warwick who is 3-0 on the year.

With Corey Coughlin solid pitching over eight innings and the hitting of Vin Da Silva and Ed Walsh, the Rams edged the East Greenwich Avengers, 6-5, in extra innings.
